Rare earth aluminum alloy conductors are a new type of conductor manufactured by smelting pure aluminum with multiple trace metal elements, followed by sophisticated processes including special annealing and compact pressing. I. What Are Rare Earth Elements and Their Advantages?

Rare earth aluminum alloy cables are manufactured using self-developed rare earth aluminum alloy rods with fully independent intellectual property rights. The conductor rods are produced by adding rare earth elements to electrolytic aluminum, which play a vital role in the alloy. Copper cables have three prominent disadvantages: (1) High copper prices push up overall project investment costs; (2) Copper resources are increasingly scarce, with most supplies relying on imports; (3) Copper cables are heavy and inflexible, leading to high construction costs.

III. Official Opinions of National Authorities on Rare Earth Aluminum Alloy Cables

IV. Mandatory Qualifications for Rare Earth Aluminum Alloy Cable Manufacturers

 

Official appraisal, evaluation or certification issued by national competent authorities including the National Energy Administration, Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development or equivalent regulatory bodies. Official product test reports issued by nationally recognized authoritative testing institutions, covering three categories: (1) Three fundamental mandatory test reports: Test Report on Conductivity and Chemical Composition of Aluminum Alloys, Compressive Creep Test Report of Conductors, and 1000-Thermal-Cycle Test Report of Transition Terminals. These represent the basic technical prerequisites for aluminum alloy cable production. (2) Type test reports from national authoritative testing institutions, as well as fire resistance or flame retardancy test reports from the National Fire Testing Center, which are provided based on customers’ specified cable models. (3) Full-performance test reports conducted by national authoritative testing institutions in accordance with industrial standards released by the National Energy Administration, covering tensile strength, flexibility, elongation, corrosion resistance, low-temperature resistance, bending resistance and other indicators.
