Loose connections and overheated terminals are expensive problems in power distribution. Aluminium conductors require careful attention to the conductor alloy, connector rating, surface preparation and tightening method. Creep and thermal cycling are part of that design discussion, but changing the cable alloy alone does not guarantee a sound termination.
Start with the termination system specified by the equipment and connector manufacturer. Where an aluminium-alloy conductor is being considered, check the applicable standards, permitted conductor class and rated connector combinations. Do not treat an alloy designation as a substitute for the right lug, installation torque and inspection procedure.
Corrosion control also depends on the enclosure, moisture exposure, connector plating and whether dissimilar metals are in contact. Ask which qualification tests apply to the actual cable and termination design. Rare-earth or other alloy additions should not be described as eliminating corrosion without product-specific evidence.

Installation cost can influence cable choice, particularly when a project involves long runs or difficult access. Armoured cable such as ACWU90 may simplify some layouts where the local code permits its use, but allowable installation methods, mechanical protection and grounding must be checked for the jurisdiction and exact cable construction.
The joint deserves a documented procedure. Use connectors rated for the conductor and busbar materials, follow the manufacturer’s surface-preparation and torque instructions, and apply oxide-inhibiting compound only where the approved connector instructions specify it. A large amount of compound cannot compensate for an incompatible or incorrectly installed lug.
Tengyuetong’s aluminium-alloy cable range can be reviewed against the project’s voltage class, installation environment and required standards. For an enquiry, include conductor size, route length, termination type, drawing and destination market. Ask for the exact test documents and installation guidance for the selected product before specifying it.
Before specifying the cable, use your conductor size and termination drawing to discuss the available construction with Tengyuetong.
